THIS YEAR’S THEME WILL BE “MUSICAL OLDIES”. The
people who migrated to America in the 1600’s from Ireland, Scotland, and England brought with them the basic styles
of music that are generally considered to be the roots of bluegrass music as it is known today. Therefore, we will start with
some bluegrass music, and then move to country and pop both in the fifties and sixties. The LST 32 Band, Close Kin, will be
providing the music. We are certain this will take you on a trip down memory lane as you reminisce about moments you treasure.
Once again, a reminder that the Titanic Museum is open in Pigeon Forge if you have not seen it. You can even experience
the temperature of the ocean water. They have some awesome pieces recovered from the Titanic. The tour takes
about two hours. The cost is $25 per veteran and $25 per each veteran’s guest. If we have 15 or more
going as a group, the price would be lowered to $22 per person. They open at 9 AM, 7 days a week.
Attached is the ENTERTAINMENT & BANQUET SHEET to be returned to Rita Parks by August 5, 2016. Also enclosed
is the REGISTRATION AND DUES FORM to be returned to Lynette Pichard as quickly as possible so that we can get an accurate
count of attendees.
The Country Tonight show has been updated for 2016 and I am sure the food
at the Hatfield and McCoy’s will be as delicious as it was before! Remember, they offered seconds! The chicken
was some of the best I have ever had. We are looking forward to a great time of fellowship and fun with one another!
Wishing everyone good health, and looking forward to seeing you in Pigeon Forge!!
